Joel Meyerowitz
Joel Meyerowitz (born in New York,1938) is an award-winning photographer whose work has appeared in over 350 exhibitions in museums and galleries worldwide. Celebrated as a pioneer of colour photography, he is a two time Guggenheim Fellow, recipient of both National Endowment for the Arts and National Endowment for the Humanities awards and a recipient of The Royal Photographic Society's Centenary Medal. He has published over 30 books.
Pop chronicles the journey of three generations of Meyerowitz men on a road trip from Florida to the Bronx to explore their familial roots.

Joel's father, Hy, is battling Alzheimer's disease. So they embark on a "quest to see if, along the way, the adventures and experiences we would have could stimulate his now rapidly failing memory."

The film directed and produced by Joel Meyerowitz is touching, funny, poignant and beautifully captures intimacy between fathers and sons.

All of Meyerowitz's work explores people and their lives, from his street photography to the Film 'Pop.'  it looks deeply at society and the people around him at any given time.

With this project, this is something that I hope I can get across in the work that I am producing. I want to show a deeper connection to the importance of family and holding onto memories that are so meaningful and significant to us and our growth.
